Magical moments…

May 27, 2010

As promised in the last blog posting, below you will find a selection of the fantastic underwater images that were taken by Nicola Potts from Focus First Photography. All the parents involved are thrilled with the results and are now the proud owners of pictures that can be cherished for years to come.

If any of you Splish Splosh parents are sat at home now wishing that you had an image like the ones below, we will keep you posted on our future involvement with any photography (or why not comment/tweet/message/call if you are interested?).

On a lighter note, Adrian and Vicky were on Holiday last week down in Devon enjoying all this fine weather, they are back at work this week and looking forward to the launch of Splish Splosh’s new and improved website. The guys at Nugenko who have designed the site are busy putting the final touches to what should provide visitors a more user friendly experience (we will also be introducing two new characters: Mrs Splish and Mr Splosh!).

So, until our next blog posting where we shall be looking at the new site and also hearing where Vicky and Adrian got their inspiration from in order to create their new colourful characters, enjoy the images and let’s hope the fine weather returns!

Underwater fun…

May 17, 2010

Have you ever seen your child swim underwater and wondered what they looked like? How you could capture the image? Or simply how your family could have a photo taken in the water enjoying helping your child to swim? Well Splish Splosh explored the unknown!

We recently had the most memorable day in the water with ten Splish Splosh families at New Earswick Community School. With the aid of the extremely talented Nicola Potts from Focusfirst Photography we had a fantastic time capturing images in and under the water that left everyone more than happy.

Vicky loved the idea and was especially keen to get the project underway:

“We chose to go down this route of underwater photography due to the sheer demand from parents; it’s a fabulous keepsake that can be cherished for years to come.”

The ten families that embraced the opportunities of underwater photography revelled in the results and we hope to provide another session soon; if you feel that you would like to take part with your child next time then get in touch with the team at

The amazing images will be hitting the blog soon, but until then have a look at the cake (supplied by in Harrogate) that we all enjoyed recently to celebrate our fifth birthday!

Happy Birthday Splish Splosh!

May 15, 2010

Splish Splosh HQ has been buzzing with excitement over the last few weeks, as we have just celebrated our fifth birthday.

When Splish Splosh was first set up it operated from a single location at Mount School in York for 2 hours a week; the business now serves 1400 customers, operating at over 45 locations across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Humberside and Essex for over 150 hours!

The years have seen Splish Splosh develop and grow, eventually leading to where we find ourselves today (in recently refurbished offices that allow the business team to expand, providing an environment for some pretty astute customer service!).

Adrian explains why we have developed Splish Splosh with customer service as a key priority:

“It is essential that we offer the customer a complete service. We didn’t want focus attention on providing quality lessons and securing the best facilities to then leave the customer with an answerphone when they tried to contact us.”

To say that we have weathered one of the worst recessions in living memory and come out fighting fit is something to be proud of. We must say a big thank you to all who have continued to swim with us and those that are joining us on a daily basis.
